The Beast vs Tobin – Pats vs Jags – Chowder vs Coffee Grounds

Tobin has been intolerable this week. He has some ridiculous notion that the Jags vaunted defense is going to end the career of the GOAT, Tom Brady. Listen, the Jax defense is really good. You know I have all the love in the world for my boy from The U, Calais Campbell, who was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year. But…Let’s be honest, while by no means do I think New England is perfect or infallible, it’s the greatest coach and greatest QB of all time ( IMHO ) facing off against a team led by Blake Bortles and Doug Marrone. We are talking about Blake Bortles and his 64 interceptions in four years. We’re talking about Doug Marrone who got Syracuse to two Pinstripe Bowls and was average at best everywhere he’s been. Hell, Marrone was the O Line coach at the Coast Guard Academy at one point. Who even knew the Coast Guard had a football team? Do they wear life preservers instead of pads?
My good friend and midday co-host Brendan Tobin has been talking bleep all week long. That’s fine. I’ll let him do the talking. I know he doesn’t want the history of the Pats to be considered, but how can it not be. They’ve been there before. They know what it takes. What does Jacksonville know? Losing. Hey, I give them credit, they’ve had a nice run this year, but as long as the Pats can stop the run, the Pats can go back to the Superbowl. Meanwhile, Jacksonville can go home to that god forsaken city that smells like either dank paper or coffee grounds, depending on the wind direction. The Jags will continue to be one of only four teams to never go to a Superbowl. Why the hell does Tobin like them? I at least grew up in Boston. Tobin grew up down here. No excuse. He’s rooting for a loser.
